Low-cost airline Tiger Airways launches services on the most competitive and lucrative main trunk Australian route Thursday (July 2).

Tiger, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, will run up to four flights between the two largest Australian cities daily.

It is estimated the service will add 250,000 seats on the route annually.
