China Southern Airlines has added two weekly flights from Sydney for the peak Christmas/New Year period, taking to 10 the number of weekly departures from Australia, effective until February 20.

Services from Sydney to Guangzhou have increased from five a week to daily.

China Southern has also introduced three nonstop flights a week from Melbourne to Guangzhou, replacing three flights via Sydney. This schedule will continue until March 25.

“This is one of the busiest times of the year for travel to China, both by tourists from Australia and by members of the Chinese community,” says Australian regional manager James Liu.
"Travellers will also be able to take advantage of our onward services throughout Asia, and beyond to destinations including Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”

All China Southern flights from Australia use Airbus A330-200 aircraft seating 264 passengers in a two-class cabin (24 in Business).

As a member of the expanding SkyTeam global airline alliance, China Southern can also offer onward travel with partner airlines from China or other destinations. SkyTeam

has nine full-member airlines and two associate member airlines offering more than 13,130 flights a day to 856 destinations in 169 countries.
