Wataniya revamps schedule
11:44 AM :: 0 Comments :: Article Rating :: UAE/Gulf

Kuwait-based Wataniya Airways has unveiled a revamped summer flight schedule as its fifth aircraft joins the fleet.

The new improved schedule includes an increased number of flights to Beirut, Amman and Sharm El Sheikh, along with more attractive departure times for its popular Cairo and Jeddah routes all starting from March 28.

The carrier says the changes are a result from listening to clients and endeavouring to accommodate passengers' demands.

Chairman and MD Abdulsalam Al Bahar said the airline's guests have always been keen to tell staff how their travel experiences can be improved - "and we’re always eager to listen".

"The changes to the schedule for summer 2010 reflect the high demand on the Beirut, Amman and Sharm El Sheikh routes and by adjusting our departure times on other routes we aim to give guests more flexibility in managing their business and leisure travel.”

With the arrival of its fifth aircraft, due at the end of March, Wataniya Airways is now able to offer an improved flight schedule and to launch new destinations in the region and further afield. The new schedule includes improved timings to Jeddah which Wataniya Airways will be flying to and from on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with departure times from Kuwait at 1:45pm and departing Jeddah at 4:55pm.

The new schedule also includes improved timings for Cairo, one of Wataniya Airways’ most popular destinations. Wataniya will still be flying to Cairo twice a day departing from Kuwait at 11:50am and 6:05pm.

The frequency of flights to Beirut will in June increase to three flights a day from the current two, departing at 11:35am, 3:10pm, and 7:25pm.

The new schedule also sees increased frequency to Amman with daily flights to the Jordanian capital, as well as an increase to the Red Sea’s most popular destination Sharm El Sheikh, with three flights a week leaving on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

And a new route will be added to the schedule - Istanbul.

“We have ambitious plans for Wataniya Airways this year, and based on the frequent and positive feedback we get from our guests, we believe that this new schedule is a step in the right direction towards providing our guests with a service that caters to their needs. In addition to that, our new routes will be a major step in our continued development as the preferred airline for discerning travelers in the Gulf,” concluded Al Bahar.
