Air Asia launches massive seat sale

Air Asia launches a low fare seat sale this week offering one way trips from as little as A$3.

The sale covers AirAsia’s extensive network of over 130 routes stretching across 20 countries.

The airline is slashing air fares to more than 70 destinations across Asia, the UK and beyond including the holiday hotspots of Bali, Penang and Phuket, as well as London.

The sale - one of AirAsia’s biggest for the year - begins 2am AEST (12.01am WST) Tuesday 18 May 2010 until 23 May 2010 for travel between 3 January 2011 and 8 May 2011.

Travellers can fly from the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth to the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, and from Perth to Bali, from *$129 one way (including taxes and charges).

From Kuala Lumpur, grab a flight to London (Stansted) from a tiny *$249 one way (including taxes and charges).

Additionally, AirAsia is offering passengers the chance to pay only taxes and charges on flights across much of its network as part of its hugely anticipated Massive Seat Sale meaning travellers will also be able to fly onwards from Kuala Lumpur to other Malaysian destinations including Langkawi, Kuching and Penang from $3.

Just $9 buys a ticket to a range of destinations in Thailand including Krabi and Phuket; to Indonesia including Bali, Jakarta and Jogyakarta; to India including Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi; Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam, as well as Singapore and Laos.

For as little as $18, travellers will be able to fly to Cambodia including Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, to China including Chengdu, Guangzhou and Tianjin; and Brunei.

Air fares to the Philippines and Hong Kong start from *$25.

“These fares are so low we’re practically giving them away; in fact in some cases we are, when you only pay the taxes and surcharges,” said AirAsia GM Australia Darren Wright.

Guests can also upgrade on the long haul routes with AirAsia X’s new ‘flatbed Premium seats’, which have standard business class specifications of 20” width, 60” pitch and stretch out to 77” in full recline position.

Premium seats are available on AirAsia X’s long haul routes between Kuala Lumpur, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, United Kingdom, China, Taiwan and India.

AirAsia services more than 130 routes covering over 70 destinations.

Hi there

I am looking to fly from the UK to Sydney in Australia with a stopover in the Philippines for about two weeks, sometime at the end of January 2011 and returning end March 2011. Can you please let me know if you can arrange this for me and the prices? I have to get to Clark Airport in Luzon, Philppines. Many thanks.

We would like to fly Air Asia to Bali late October, but do not want the later evening flights (being elderly) from Bali and preference to leaving Perth on morning flight (if possible). Been to Bali many times with various flights commencing 35 years ago. Thank you
