Low-cost carrier AirAsia has become the first airline in the world to abolish its administration fee.

The carrier says the move will make budget air travel in the region an even more affordable option during the current tough economic climate.

AirAsia’s decision will see administration fees abolished forever and will apply to bookings made for all AirAsia flights effective immediately.

The No Admin Fee decision is timed to coincide with an incredible regional fare promotion which includes flights from the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth to Malaysia from as low as $99* one-way.

Further unbelievable savings can be made on connecting flights from Kuala Lumpur, including flights to London for just $200* (one-way), Thailand and Indonesia from $17* (one-way) while connecting flights on the Malaysian Peninsula (Penang and Langkawi) are going from the give-away price of just $2* (one-way). Many of these sales prices are even cheaper than airport tax!

This special promotion is available exclusively for online bookings made from June 24 to 28, 2009 for travel between October 1, 2009 and April 30, 2010.
